Growing up, anytime I asked my father why I had to do something I was told, his reply was, "Because I said so." So in the spirit of all self-proclaimed authorities out there, I name my blog in your honor. My disclaimer is this, I am not a travel authority or a culinary expert or a wine connoisseur. My passion for all things related to travel, food and friends is my only credibility (and perhaps my 20+ years of tourism marketing) . The rest, as they say, is because I said so.

Wicked Good
We discovered what that local term means first hand last night, with individual one-and-a-half pound Maine lobstas. A seafood stand in Rockland, Jesse’s, even steams them for you. Hannah, a New England native, taught Taryn the fine art of disassembling and eating the yummy crustaceans. Along with the lobsta, we had organic salad and broccoli purchased at the weekly Farmer’s Market. Before dinner, we enjoyed organic sheep’s brie and a loaf of crusty Italian bread with a crisp chilled glass of Chardonnay. Does life get much better than this?
